French staples pair with piano music at this opulent restaurant, a tribute to Josephine Baker.
First walking in I absolutely loved the warm vibe of this restaurant. Honestly with the comes and the dark wood it reminded me a bit of when I was in Paris. I didn't expect there to be live music but there was a lovely musician playing piano and singing very gently, just loud enough to add to the ambiance but still have conversation at the table. The service was just right. They were attentive but not naggy and our waiter answered any questions with a pleasant, dare I say even happy, demeanor. He plauded our choices which whether true or false was nice to hear. Now for the food. I heard this was a good spot for French food and I am happy to report that they did not disappoint. My friends have a tradition of eating it family style. *Appetizers* French Onion Soup - I am not usually a fan of French onion soup because there onions are burnt resulting in a bitter taste. However, this is honestly the best French onion soup I've ever had because I actually really really liked it. Not only was there no bitterness, but the cheese they used was divine (I believe it was gruyere, one of my favorites). Escargots à la Bourguignonne - My friends and I had it in Paris and like to get it as a treat to reminisce about studying abroad. Here it is served pre-shelled and sitting in garlic and herbs so no need to fear accidentally catapulting snails at other diners. (Pro tip: soak up the sauce with the bread they give to the table, you won't regret it!) Tuna Tartare - I love tuna tartare and theirs was top tier. It is served over an avocado salad and features a ginger sesame oil sauce and it paired with toasted bread cut into triangles. *Main Course* Roasted Breast of Long Island Duck with an orange glaze and wild rice - I chose this French restaurant specifically because they had a duck breast dish and they did not disappoint! I'm bias but if the 3 mains we got, this was my favorite. The duck was perfectly cooked, the orange glaze was a lovely compliment to the duck, and the wild rice gave it dinner great texture. Absolutely delicious. I would come back just for this dish Veal special with truffle mash potatoes - My friend ordered this one and if you're a fan of veal or mash you'll be hoping they bring this special back Pan-Seared Sea Scallops with green asparagus, potato purée, and champagne sauce - Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of scallops. I will say, they were made very well and I enjoyed it when the pastor puree and asparagus. *Dessert* Crème Brûlée - We split this dessert and it was on par with the rest of our meal. I feel like the best way to describe it is that the custard seemed perfectly set. Not water, held it's shape but still melted in the mouth. The perfect end to a delicious meal! I will definitely be coming back here again!

I tried this place for Restaurant week,( I dont know why they still call it that) I wanted to get the fixed menu. I think of it as an introduction to the restaurant. We had the salad, the soup the steak, Quail and ice cream cake. The salad was good nothing too special. The soup was perfect I enjoyed every drop. The steak was skirt steak so I didnt have too much expectations on that but the sauce taste really burnt as did the Quail. The risotto was pretty good I enjoyed that part. The ice cream cake couldnt have been cut thinner they may have well shaved a piece to searve. Maybe its just the restaurant week menu. After eating here at restaurant week I wouln't be inclined to go back. The restaurant has a very romantic vibe it is perfect for a date night. They had live piano and a singer and the walls are adorned with photos of Josephine Baker. I wouldn't recomend to bring children but that is up to you. The staff were very pleasant and attentive I felt welcomed as soon as I arrived.

5-Star Review Dear Chez Josephine Management and Staff, I am writing to express my utmost appreciation and gratitude for the exceptional experience my family and I had at your esteemed restaurant in NYC. I am thrilled to gift you a well-deserved 5-star review, as our visit was truly outstanding in every aspect. From the moment we stepped into Chez Josephine, we were warmly greeted by your incredibly friendly staff. We were specifically looking for a kid-friendly restaurant with a piano, as my son Nicholas is passionate about music and takes piano lessons. You provided the perfect ambiance for him, and he was overjoyed to hear the beautiful piano melodies throughout our dining experience. I want to extend a special thank you to your staff for their attentiveness and thoughtfulness. When my son felt a bit chilly, they promptly offered him a sweater, which I had forgotten to bring. This small gesture made a world of difference and showcased the genuine care and hospitality that sets Chez Josephine apart. Now, let me take a moment to express my admiration for your drinks. The pineapple sensation, in particular, left us speechless. It was a delightful and unique experience, and I cannot find the right words to describe its incredible taste. I must confess, it even helped me get out of the "dog house" with my wife, who was equally captivated by the drink's flavors. We truly appreciate the creativity and mastery behind your beverage selection. Overall, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Chez Josephine for providing us with exceptional service and an unforgettable dining experience. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and we will undoubtedly be returning in the near future. Thank you for making our time in NYC so memorable. With warmest regards, Elkin Colorado

Great food! Very good service. We loved the onion soup and the Tuna tartar. The Trout was great as well. My partner enjoyed the steak tartar. Service very good and nice atmosphere with live music (Saturday night).

I’ve been lucky to have dined here four or five times over 20 years, most recently two days ago. If anything, it has gotten even better. The food (pork chops, Amish chicken, sweet potato fries, onion soup) were perfectly prepared. Quiet, conversational level of hustle and bustle and the pianist/singer added just the right touch of intimacy. I hope my next visit will be soon.

Continental classics like borscht, caviar & vodka served in a flashy, opulent setting.
What a beautiful establishment! The restaurant is located near Carnegie Hall and upon entry, you’re absorbed into a different and vintage world. The decoration is beautiful and our waiter is amazing and attentive. We were pleasantly surprise to find that we dont all have to do afternoon tea unlike other tea room so for party of 4, opted for 2 afternoon tea and 2 entree instead. We find savory and sweet options from afternoon tea tower so so; though the beef stroganoff was impressive! The beef was tender and full of flavor - would come back just for this dish. Also appreciate the waitress going above and beyond in splitting our entree for convenience in sharing without even having to ask. Overall, a pleasant afternoon experience.

The Russian Tea Room is an icon of New York City; a visit there really transports you to another version of the city. The atmosphere is old world glamor, and everything is over the top in the best way. A friend and I had the Afternoon Tea service. She arrived quite late to our tea date, and instead of making me feel uncomfortable about the wait, the server brought me a glass of champagne on the house. It was such a sweet gesture and made me feel much more relaxed (naturally). Favorite items during our tea service were the curried chicken salad sandwiches, the Croque Monsieur, and the Caviar Tasting on blinis, though everything was so refined and delicious. Overall, quite an experience, and highly recommended if you’re looking for something special to do around Midtown or Central Park.

I had dinner here with couple friends recently. I am not a fan on chandeliers, gold rim old money charm decor, but the dinning room is quite nice and comfortable. The service was not up to par that night. Although our server came by a few times to ask us how was everything, but never noticed our glasses of water were empty. We had to point it out and asked for refill. Food was decent, the Blinchik was good and Red Borsch pretty tasty. We also tried the Salmon Salad, and Boeuf a la Stroganoff (Braised Short Ribs) which was delicious. The chocolate Mousse Cake and Cheese Cake were good and not too sweet.

This was my first time doing a high tea. I really thought it was a fun experience. Our waiter was good. We wish we would have been told a little more about how to order. The prices are very steep $95 Per Person. The value of the food didn't match the price. I wasn't impressed with the taste of some of the sandwiches. The tea room is beautiful. We also asked to see the private room for some pictures bit our waiter forgot. This would not be a place I would frequent. It's more of a one and done situation.

This place is right next to Carnegie Hall. We had already finished lunch and we just wanted some tea. This spot was perfect. Away from all the noise, dark, ornate and air conditioned. Feels exotic. Our tea pot cost is $10. Food is expensive and you can enjoy a high tea party for $130, or fancy $22 desserts. But you can also just have tea and enjoy the experience. We had an hour before the show and this was a perfect spot for a cuppa:)

New American restaurant on the 21st floor of the Hilton with views of the Theater District.
Paid 45 dollars for a mediocre hot breakfast. Would not recommend this place. You can do better!

$50 for what amounts to a Hampton Inn countertop breakfast buffet is ridiculous, even for NYC. Boxes of cereal, out of a box pastries, dried out scrambled eggs, and juice from a tower. Come on Hilton.

Lively place for classic American fare & specialty cocktails in spacious digs with a hopping bar.
I came here Sunday brunch around 11AM. I got the Eggs Benedict and it was the best I've ever had. The home fries had a unique twist being heavily seasoned accompanied with onions. My mom got the goat cheese omelette. Outdoor seating is a bit crowded and the service was a bit slow. Indoors they have a very nice bathroom for patrons. I definitely recommend this place for brunch if you couldn't get a reservation at Tavern On The Green (which is what happened to us).

Always favorite place but different location this time. Went for my birthday dinner with my running family. The service was not very satisfying but the food is always good so that sums up. As usual my salmon tartare is great. Their Mac & cheese is the best.

Very nice, comfortable place. Good drinks and food, fast and professional service. It's super crowded on Friday evening. Better to reserve ahead. They have outdoor and indoor seating. There's a huge bar inside too. Restrooms are well maintained. We ordered few drinks, lobster roll and salmon for dinner. I liked the City Bird a lot. Salmon was cooked excellent with all side ingredients complimenting the dish. Lobster roll was yummy, served with crunchy fries. I was impressed with their service. The food came out so fast. We were in and out within 45 minutes.

A place that falls below expectations for a stylish restaurant with branches. First of all, since it said “Big Salads” on the menu and the price was twice that of average salads, I expected it to be a big and satisfying salad, but the salad was not satisfying at all. While I was expecting the grilled chicken to be hot and juicy just taken off the grill, it was a big disappointment to see the portioned frozen chickens put in the microwave. A stylish venue and good service are not enough; they must offer quality plates that are worth the money.

Love this place. Great atmosphere. Excellent staff. Delicious food! I hosted a client dinner here and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Our server Giuherme was the perfect person for our group. He was helpful, personable, made great recommendations and tremendously professional. I look forward to coming back!

This enormous, clublike Pan-Asian eatery is known for a giant Buddha centerpiece & beautiful crowd.
Wow. Incredible decorations and atmosphere. Feels like you are in a different world. Almost Disney World like. Really well done so you’d probably expect food to be no so good right but the food here was just as good as the atmosphere and decor. Service was also very attentive. When our waiter went on a breaks or something, someone else came by and checked on us and informed that waiter will be back shortly. There was a dish I did not like because it had seafood and they exchanged it for us. Incredible dining experience. Loved it!

One of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in a while. The ambience, food and service are a vibe that you don’t want to miss when coming to New York. The flavors of the dishes are truly unmatched leaving you beyond satisfied. Each plate we tried was well thought from the sauces and garnishes. Truly a flavor explosion. Don’t skip out on the veg dumplings, chicken lettuce wraps and the pad Thai noodles. The highlight of the night was the Potted Carrot Cake. Our waiter told us it was genius, and he was right. I won’t give away the spoiler so you can find out for yourself how amazing it is. Definitely will be return to Tao in the future.

I absolutely enjoyed my time here. I highly recommend the lobster and shrimp fried rice. The food tasted amazing but it was really salty. Apart from that, I had a wonderful time with my family celebrating our brothers birthday. They had forgotten a few of our foods but they fixed the issue right away. The bathrooms were clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean and the staff was alert and tended to our needs. I look forward to going back to this restaurant again.

Oh my goodness what can I say?? It was soooo good!!! I got the NYC restaurant week deal 2 course lunch for $30. The appetizer was so fulfilling it was like a meal unto itself and was so delicious!! I got the minced chicken lettuce wraps. And for the entree I got the tiger hangar steak which was incredible! For a $5 dessert I got the Chocolate Zen Parfait which wasn’t bad but not my personal favorite. Next time I would try a different dessert.

We have dined at Tao Uptown a handful of times over the years as well as the downtown location. While both places have solid food, you visit either location primarily for the atmosphere, which is fantastic! We had a special party here for my wife in the private dining room on the 3rd floor. The view from that room overlooks the entire restaurant. The experience was awesome. We couldn't recommend a party here highly enough.

Locally sourced, seasonal ingredients abound on the American menu served at this townhouse-set spot.
This is what you want in an unpretentious finer dining establishment - focus on ingredients and techniques, pleasant service and a sense of innovation. The four course menu is really a lot more dishes because each course has multiple delicious items, and by the end you will definitely be full. Cocktail and wine menu is pretty impressive as well.

Family Meal at Blue Hill is a unique, fun and tasty place. Dinner is a menu-less experience that is in the spirit of a restaurant's family meal. The dishes are all made with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, and the focus is on vegetables and grains, with meats playing a supporting role. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special dining experience.

The single best tasting menu I ever had, every dish knocked it out of the park, being both unique and thoughtful. And serving courses family style made the experience of fine dining with others all the more personable and intimate. And the service was spectacular as well with very attentative and knowledgeable staff!!

This was the best tasting menu I've had in a while. Clearly the main feature of it was the ingredients. The freshest, bestest, absolutely delicious, incredible flavorful vegetables (and other ingredients), and they use them in a very smart way. I also loved that the dishes were "simple". No foams, gels etc, just very delicious and flavorful food

$150/person pre-fixed 4 courses dinner. Each course comes with many dishes. I love the dessert, carrot & steak, and the bread. All dishes are good but not special enough to visit again. The whole dining experience is about 2-2.5 hours. Some dishes are the same with blue hill stone barns, like the dessert.

Renowned, upscale 20-course tasting menu that fuses French & Japanese flavors requires reservations.
Dining at The Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fair was an unforgettable culinary journey that has left an indelible mark on my dining experiences. It's not just a restaurant; it's an extraordinary masterpiece crafted by two culinary geniuses, Executive Chefs Marco and Max. Their talent, creativity, and passion shone through every single dish, leaving me in awe. Each bite was a revelation, each course a work of art, and the entire meal surpassed all expectations. The ambiance of the restaurant struck a perfect balance between relaxation and sophistication. It provided the ideal backdrop for an evening of culinary delights. The staff was not only friendly and welcoming but also impressively professional and highly knowledgeable about the ingredients they served. If you seek a perfect venue for a special occasion, be it an anniversary, birthday, or any celebration, this restaurant is a choice you won't regret!

Omggg. I’ve been to many tasting menus and have to agree with one of the other reviews when I say there’s always something disappointing with at least one of the courses. Every course and every bite made me want more and more! We were quite full Bu the Tim we got to dessert but the frozen soufflé was THE BEST DESSERT IVE EVER HAD!!!!!! SOOOOOOOOOOO goood!!!!

Went the day after Chef’s Table at Brooklyn Fare reopened and WOW. We were absolutely blown away. The experience was what we’d imagined but better. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and courteous. And the food OMG - 14 courses accompanied by the most delectable wine selection - recommend doing the wine pairing 10/10 y’all. There isn’t a bad seat in this place. Whether you’re sitting at the counter or a booth it’s a great time. Service 10/10 attention to detail and presentation was a definite highlight for us. Food 10/10 I’m a seafood lover so the courses were right up my alley. Atmosphere 10/10 understated luxury. Music selection was on point. I remembered everyone who serviced/stopped by our table because you were all part of an exquisite experience for us. Thank you, Mike, Chef Marcus, Peter, Say-on (probably misspelled sorry), Becca, Artemio, David, and Jesus!

I was expecting a lot more from a 3 star michelin. I guess the general word for giving a 3/5 rating is that it lacks “soul”. We sat at the counter, expecting to see a lot of action at the kitchen, but that doesn’t really happen. The ambience is nice, but for sitting in a counter overlooking the kitchen, I was expecting to live more of that. The menu is quite pricey for the flavors of the food. Putting expensive ingredients from exquisite places does not mean the food will taste great. “Langoustine from Norway” kind pf thing. Service needs to be improved to be considered a 3 star, it lacks attentiveness. I would not recommend this restaurant for people with high expectations on the high star restaurants. I’ve recently been to Bruno Verjus Table, while it was a 1 star (recently turned into 2) and the service and food cannot be compared. So “soul” and “food taste” gives me a 3/5. Lots to be improved.

My favorite Michelin restaurant among midtown so far. Celebrated our birthday here. Every dish is tasty. Some are extremely creative. A lot of unexpected layers. The service is amazing/friendly. I love seafood. Definitely coming back for the next seasonal menu
